Overview of Seattle University & Its Calendar

Seattle University (SU) is a Jesuit Catholic university located in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1891, the university offers more than 70 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the arts and sciences, business administration, education, nursing, law and theology. The university has a total enrollment of approximately 7,000 students.
The university operates on a semester-based calendar. Each semester typically begins with orientation activities for new students followed by classes beginning in late August or early September and ending in mid-December for fall semester and mid-May for spring semester. Summer term typically runs from mid-May through August. There are also special sessions offered at various times throughout the year.
Students may register for courses prior to each term’s start date and can add or drop classes during the first week of classes without penalty. Final exams are typically held during the last week of each semester before a break period leading into the next term begins.

Registration for summer courses
To register for summer courses at Seattle, you must first submit an application. Once your application is accepted, you will be given access to the university’s online registration system. Through the system, you can select and enroll in the classes that best meet your needs.
In addition to the online system, you can also register for classes through SEAPAX, a registration service offered by the University of Seattle. With SEAPAX, you can search for available courses and add them to your cart before completing your registration.
Finally, if you are unable to register online or through SEAPAX, you can visit the University Registrar’s Office in person during their office hours to complete your registration. You will need to bring a copy of your completed application as well as any other required documents when registering in person.
