Program grant of Seattle focuses on:

Funding will be awarded to teachers in grades 12 through 12 for innovative activities that improve and enhance student learning at Seattle Public Schools.

Amount of available capital for funding by Seattle:

Seattle Education will grant two types of benefits to certified unsupervised employees.

• Up to $3,000 for individuals
• Up to $10,000 for collaborative proposals of grade level, cross-level, interdisciplinary, individual industry, or other group types

What is Seattle’s funding proposal like?

The application form (PDF format) must contain the following information in the order shown (not to exceed two typed pages). Please number each section (1-10).

• School name and address
• Manager’s name and email address
• Name and email address of the main applicant
• Names and roles of participants in the partnership proposal
• Number of students benefiting
• Student level(s) served
• Statement of the problem/need/challenge to be solved
• Brief description of the action plan
• Describe how to measure project goals/student outcomes
• Budget information

Grant Information and Implementation Guidelines

Scholarships will be awarded for the 2022-2023 academic year:

No salary, benefits, travel or conference fees to authorized personnel or other area employees shall be paid from the Fund. Personal service contracts are permitted.

The application form style should not exceed two pages. Please do not submit attachments or appendices that exceed the two-page limit.

Multiple applications for the same proposal from different teachers in the school will not be considered.

Grants will be awarded by June 1, 2022, and will be deposited into School Funding Cost Centers by July 15, 2022. Funds must be used by June 30, 2023.

 Grantees will submit a brief review of the funded project to the SEF website by 15 July 2023, addressing the following questions: a) What have I done? b) What difference did it make?

If a non-approved trustee of funds changes schools or locations, the SEF Board will determine the appropriate allocation of funds between the beneficiary and the principal.

Evaluation criteria for the Seattle Education Fund

• Need – the nature and severity of the problem or challenge
• CREATIVE – Innovative aspects of the proposed program
• Realistic budget – suitable for activities
• Measurable goals – a clear statement of the expected change in a student’s academic performance
• Sustainable – the program will continue after funding is completed

Your likelihood of receiving funding will be affected by the more creative, innovative, and creative you are with your application, and the more students are affected by the project.

Neighbor to Neighbor

The Grants and Technical Assistance Program began in 1991 and is a major strategy of the Seattle Center for Community Partnerships.

Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) supports grassroots efforts that increase the participation, power and influence of members of society affected by poverty and racial disparities. Priority is given to efforts led by people from diverse, under-investment communities.

White Horse Foundation

Whitehorse Foundation was founded in 1990 as an organization in support of the Seattle Foundation.

The mission of the Whitehorse Foundation is to fund organizations that improve the quality of life for residents of Snohomish County, Washington.

The Foundation focuses on programs that address prevention issues and community challenges rather than follow-up interventions.

In particular, it funds comprehensive services that fully meet the needs of children, youth and families.

The Foundation seeks grant applications for programs and projects:

• Strengthen the family’s ability to support, nurture and guide children
• Promote responsive parenting to improve children’s emotional, economic, and social well-being
• Helping families acquire the knowledge and skills to achieve self-sufficiency
• Involve families and residents in program design, development, and management
• Respond to cultural, gender, ability and ethnic differences
• Grant requests are also prioritized for programs and projects that include other funding sources and have strong community support.

Two-step application process: (1) The first step is to submit a brief two-page request letter describing your project and application. (2) The second step is to be invited to submit a complete application if your application meets the Foundation’s funding criteria.

Norman Archibald Charitable Foundation

The Norman Archibald Charitable Foundation was established in 1976 and is administered by the will of Norman S.

Archibald benefits nonprofits serving the needs of Northwest Washington.

After 40 years as a private foundation, we transitioned to the Seattle Foundation’s Donor Advisory Fund.

The priority is to provide funding for capital and equipment projects to organizations that improve quality of life and benefit residents in Northwest Washington.

Applications are accepted from nonprofits with tax-exempt status under Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code operating in the Northwest District of Washington.

The Norman Archibald Foundation does not fund school facilities.

Morgan Corporation

The Morgan Foundation, the Seattle Foundation’s donor-advised fund, is proud to announce its 2022 request for proposals to support performing arts organizations in the Washington, D.C. and Seattle focus areas in dance and theater.

The Morgan Foundation will accept both general operational support and project-based proposals. Proposals between $1,500 and $15,000 will be considered.

Registered organizations must be nonprofits that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code, or that are financially sponsored by a 501 corporation.

The F5 Foundation funds STEM education for Women and Girls of Color

The F5 Foundation was established in 2018 as a philanthropic partner of the Seattle Foundation.

F5 believes that ideas that change the world should not be restricted by an individual’s gender, race, nationality, or socioeconomic status.

F5 is committed to helping build a workforce of women of change and future leaders through our STEM education grants by investing in programs to increase access to STEM education and employment opportunities for girls and women of color.

F5 invites eligible nonprofits to apply for the $50,000 F5 STEM Education Scholarship. Those served by funding must be a majority (>50%) of women of color and/or girls of color.

Benjamin Phillips. Memorial Foundation

The Benjamin N. Phillips Memorial Fund awards annual grants to a variety of charities serving Clallam County for up to $375,000.

The Foundation is a heritage gift to Benjamin Phillips and was established after the death of Phillips’ second wife.

Health fund

The Seattle Foundation administers the Health Fund Program to support medical research of potential benefit to society and to address the specific health care needs of low-income children.

All filing entities must be primarily located in King County and eligible for tax exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code with an available grant of $200,000.

Comprehensive recovery fund

The Comprehensive Recovery Fund is a new holistic fund focused on meeting the critical needs and opportunities facing the communities most affected by the pandemic.

The fund will promote investments for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) — the nonprofit organizations, movements, and coalitions that lead and root in organizations, movements, and coalitions, creating a path to the full recovery of Greater Seattle.

The Seattle Grant Program is associated with other not-for-profit organizations

Grants will be awarded to local capacity-building intermediaries who have deep experience in providing programs that maintain the effectiveness and stability of their affiliate institutions. Blacks, Indigenous Peoples, and Coloreds (BIPOC).

The resilience and capacity of BIPOC-led nonprofits are critical because they play a vital role in responding to major disruptions as well as the long-term needs and emergence of the local community.

Through the Partnership and Partnership Fundraising Program, nonprofit partners can provide up to $30,000 in total for previously proposed fundraising.
