Sharon Peaslee has put her hat in the ring and is running against the incumbent Peter Maier for the District 1 seat. School Board Candidate Kate Martin has been the first candidate to respond to the questions generated by Parents Across America, Seattle. Ms. Martin will be running against the incumbent Sherry Carr. Kate Martin and her husband, Jose Chavez, along with their two sons, Esteban – 20 and Emilio – 18, live in the South Greenwood neighborhood. Both sons graduated from Roosevelt High School and both attend North Seattle Community College. Kate moved to Seattle in 1979.
